A Pedigree Chart shows the occurrence of traits throughout a family line, ordered by generations. Circles always represent if that that person is a female, and squares represent that they are male. With every Pedigree Chart, there should be a key indicating what trait is shown throughout the family generations and show which is dominant and which is recessive to that gene. Although we cant see the genotypes for each person in the chart, we can look at each individual and infer how they got that trait and if they might have carried it to their offspring.
